Tennis Management and Consulting

May 2008 to August 2008

Tennis Instructor and Administrative Assistant

During my high school summers and some of my college breaks I worked for Tennis Management and Consulting (TMC). I began at TMC as an assistant Tennis Instructor for children lessons. A few months later I was promoted and was able to teach children's lessons by myself and also train other employees. When I had time between lessons I would hangout in the office and learn how to place orders, sort inventory, create brochures and posters for up coming events, develop employees work schedules, and enhance my skills in Microsoft Office. The biggest lesson I learned from working for Will White is work ethic. He really taught me to observe my surroundings and see all the little details. His reasoning was its the little details that customers notice and if you can see what they are seeing then you will know how to improve it and provide excellent customer service. Another skill I took away with me is responsibility. If you messed up on a project or told someone wrong information make it right. Such as call a customer back and explain the answer to a question they had or, if Will told you do something and you said you would but totally forgot, speak up and tell him that you forgot. Lastly, I learned time management and speed. He always expected things to be done faster than they could be done. However, as an employee you learned that it was all about working smarter and not harder to get the job done. It is this concept that to this day really helps me to excel in my schoolwork, job, and personal life.
